Microsoft fixes Windows 11 bug that disabled mouse and keyboard in Recovery Mode

Microsoft has swiftly released an urgent out-of-band update, dubbed KB5070773, to tackle a pesky bug in Windows 11 that rendered USB input devices, including keyboards and mice, non-functional within the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE). This glitch emerged following the deployment of the KB5066835 security update earlier this month, impacting systems operating on Windows 11 versions 24H2, 25H2, and Windows Server 2025. This unexpected disruption put a halt to many users’ recovery processes, but with Microsoft’s quick intervention, normalcy is set to be restored.
