Microsoft has swiftly responded to a critical issue by releasing an urgent out-of-band (OOB) update, labeled KB5070773. This update is designed to fix a troublesome bug in Windows 11 that rendered USB input devices, such as mice and keyboards, non-functional within the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE). This problem emerged following the deployment of the KB5066835 security update earlier in the month, impacting systems operating on Windows 11 versions 24H2, 25H2, as well as Windows Server 2025. The company has moved quickly to ensure users can regain full control of their devices in recovery scenarios.
