Microsoft fixes Windows 11 bug that disabled mouse and keyboard in Recovery Mode

Microsoft has swiftly released an urgent out-of-band (OOB) update, labeled KB5070773, to tackle a critical issue in Windows 11 that was disrupting USB input devices, including mice and keyboards, within the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE). This problem emerged following the deployment of the KB5066835 security update earlier this month, impacting systems operating on Windows 11 versions 24H2, 25H2, as well as Windows Server 2025. The unexpected bug created significant challenges for users who rely on these input devices for navigating and troubleshooting in recovery mode, prompting Microsoft to take immediate corrective action.
