Microsoft fixes Windows 11 bug that disabled mouse and keyboard in Recovery Mode

Microsoft has swiftly released an urgent out-of-band (OOB) update, labeled KB5070773, to tackle a critical bug in Windows 11 that was causing USB input devices, such as mice and keyboards, to fail within the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE). This issue emerged following the deployment of the KB5066835 security update earlier in the month, impacting machines operating on Windows 11 versions 24H2, 25H2, as well as Windows Server 2025. The update aims to restore full functionality to affected systems and ensure a seamless user experience.
